The slow bride<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For the creation and production of this editorial, a team of creatives was brought together to show you a different approach to standard wedding dresses. This editorial presents a slow bride, a design full of personality, for environmentally conscious brides who are committed to a unique and different design. This sustainable wedding dress is completely hand-woven and was presented at the Sustainable Fashion Conferences and Fashion Show: “Slow Fashion: The Positive Change for Planet and People”, an event organized by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, where different conferences were held to raise awareness on the polluting impact of fashion and propose practical alternatives to protect the environment.

Merino wool<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The raw material used for this sustainable dress was: native Spanish Merino wool, provided by the Spanish company Dlana<\/strong> (Madrid). D\u00b4lana https:\/\/www.dlana.es\/<\/a>whose project aims to promote wool of Spanish origin and thus promote the much-needed transhumance. The wedding dress was mainly made of this material. It was hand-woven by local weavers Ana and Lola for four weeks: @tejedorasanayloli<\/strong>. Both of them live very close by the creative space of the designer S\u00c1, it was a pleasure to work with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a unique, special and limited project <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Merino’s material is very unusual in bridal aesthetics. It provides comfort, flexibility and does not create any type of discomfort on the skin. SUSANA \u00c1LVAREZ took the typical bridal aesthetic out of context, opting for another nationally accessible material.
The designer S\u00c1 captured her cosmopolitan, timeless vision and her distinctive comfort factor. Merino wool can be a great alternative to silk, artificial or synthetic materials (highly polluting). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crown<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

he crown was designed and hand-woven by LUCIA DE GUST\u00cdN<\/strong> http:\/\/www.luciadegustin.com<\/a> with a knitting machine whose raw material belongs to the company D\u00b4lana. he wings of the centre back are made of GreenCel<\/strong> http:\/\/www.greencel.es\/<\/a>, an artificial fiber made of cellulose from FSC managed trees and developed in a closed circuit with a solvent that is almost 100% recovered. Susana used it as brushstrokes on the sleeves and skirt of the dress in order to connect her design with that of Lucia. S\u00c1 has been part of AMSE (Asociaci\u00f3n de Moda Sostenible de Espa\u00f1a) since 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
